Dr. Plevris is an experienced minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon, Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery (MSRS) accredited by the Ιnternational Organization Surgical Review Corporation (SRC)) with a special interest in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery and gynaecological oncology. He is a consultant OBGYN at Metropolitan General Hospital, Athens, Greece. He is an active researcher, currently running a research project in hereditary ovarian cancer and is an awarded speaker at national and international conferences

Credentials & Experience

Dr Plevris has been trained in Greece and the UK. He has completed a fellowship in Gynecological Oncology and has undertaken further training in Robotic-assisted surgery and Colposcopy.

Dr. Plevris has completed his studies at the Medical School of Athens followed by a fellowship in Gynecological Οncology and Minimal Invasive Surgery in the United Kingdom. After completing his training in the NHS he became a Da Vinci-certified minimally invasive robotic surgeon and has completed numerous gynecological procedures since then in Greece and the United Kingdom.

He has completed his training in specialized OB/GYN departments with a high caseload of gynaecological oncology cases and busy robotic-assisted laparoscopy services. He has worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, Poole General Hospital, and Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.

His training has been certified by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists by awarding him with the ATSM (Advanced Training Skills Modules) certificate of Gynecological Oncology as well as the accreditation from BSCCP (The British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology).

Dr. Plevris is committed to providing safe, effective, life-changing treatment options for patients using robotic technology. He actively supports that robotic-assisted surgery allows more patients to benefit from minimally invasive surgery.

He is an active researcher, currently running a research project in his field of particular interest that has to do with hereditary ovarian cancer. He is a certified robotic surgeon from Da Vinci Intuitive Surgical after completing his full training on robotic cases in the NHS.

He is an awarded speaker at national and international conferences in his field of interest.
